User Guide
User Guide
Every product we buy comes with a user guide, this is not the case for services. We thought we should create a user guide to assist our clients to make the best use of our services.
We would like to discuss about target audience for our research, best practices for investing, and some do’s and don’ts. We hope you find this user guide informative. Please read our standard disclosures and disclaimers.
IndusWealth analytics services are best suited for systematic investors with a long-term horizon.
- By systematic – we mean monthly. We will publish research about the companies every month.
- By long term we mean – money you are considering investing today should have an investment horizon of at least 5 years and preferably 10. The longer the better.
Best practices
- You may want to pick a time of the month when you would like to invest – (this makes sure you are consistent)
- The amount you choose to invest should be a percentage of your savings (that way your investment amount also increases with your income)
- We urge you to choose a reliable and low-cost broker – brokerage is becoming a commodity so paying a premium may not be justified – keeping costs low is an important consideration in your investment journey.
INDUSWEALTH ANALYTICS
Some do’s and don’ts of investing that could assist you
Don’ts
- Invest in equities only if you are convinced that they are the best products to create long term wealth. If you are not convinced, then equities are not suitable for you.
- Equities are best for people with a long-term horizon, at least 5 years, preferably 10. If your investment horizon is less than 5 years, then equities are not suitable for you
- Equities are inherently volatile, be prepared for to ignore the volatility. If you are uncomfortable with volatility or unable to ignore it then equities are not suitable for you
- Occasionally there will be significant corrections in the market, and that may not be the time to exit, it could be a good time to buy. If you find dealing with significant corrections uncomfortable then equities are not suitable for you
- Your ability to withstand volatility is more important than your willingness to do so – if you may need to withdraw the funds invested in equities, especially when there is a crash then equities are not suitable for you
- At IndusWealth Analytics we believe that predicting the market is not possible, we believe in a systematic approach to investing. We believe systematics investing gives the best opportunity to make a reasonable return. If you are keen on market timing and plan to invest only when you believe that markets will do well – then IndusWealth Analytics services are not suitable for you
- We believe systematic investments is the best way to get most value from our research. If you are unable to invest regularly (monthly) – then IndusWealth Analytics services are not suitable for you
Do’s
- Invest regularly as a general practice, you should consider directing a part of your investments into equities.
- It is advisable to have at least 30% of your net worth in equities, you should try and build this position over a 3-to-5-year period by investing regularly
- Review your portfolio on a regular basis, we suggest quarterly – it is important that you stay informed (we also suggest that you should avoid looking your portfolio more than once a month)
- Please do a detailed review of your portfolio once a year
- Please discuss with your financial advisor if there is a significant change in your goals or financial outlook
- Consider appointing an investment advisor who may be able help you manage your investment decisions.
